Ihr lernt sowohl theoretische Hintergründe als auch ganz konkrete theaterpraktische Verfahren kennen, setzt kleine Spiel- und Inszenierungsaufgaben um und wachst gemeinsam als Ensemble, das gegen Ende des Schuljahres ein Theaterstück aufführt. Und im Theaterlandheim in Oppenau, das in der Regel am Ende der Weihnachtsferien beginnt, haben wir Zeit, unser Stück intensiv zu proben und uns noch besser kennenzulernen.
    Alle fünften Klassen des Helmholtz-Gymnasiums erhalten verstärkten Englischunterricht. In der sechsten Klasse können Schülerinnen und Schüler an einem freiwilligen Vorkurs teilnehmen, der auf den anschließenden, vornehmlich englischsprachigen Sachfachunterricht des bilingualen Zugs vorbereitet. In diesem Zug findet der Sachfachunterricht in folgender Abfolge und bis zur Klassenstufe 10 mit jeweils einer zusätzlichen Wochenstunde Unterricht pro Fach statt. Die in der Tabelle angegebenen Stunden beinhalten die Zusatzstunde. Nach Stationen in Potsdam und Heidelberg kam sie schließlich in Magdeburg an, ging nach der zwölften Klasse mit der Fachhochschulreife vom Gymnasium ab, weil Leistungsschwimmen und Lernen zusammen nicht mehr gingen. Zusätzlich zum regulären Sportangebot bieten die am Helmholtz-Gymnasium angeboten Arbeitsgemeinschaften Gelegenheit, sich auch außerhalb des Sportunterrichts zu beteiligen. Bei einigen dieser AGs kommen unsere Sport-Schülermentorinnen/Schülermentoren zum Einsatz.
    Klasse einen bilingualen Zug an, in dem der Unterricht in den Sachfächern Biologie, Geografie, Geschichte und Gemeinschaftskunde auf Englisch stattfindet. Das Helmholtz-Gymnasium besitzt ein schuleigenes Landheim in Unterhöllgrund im Odenwald. Das Helmholtz-Gymnasium ist eine Stützpunktschule für Molekularbiologie. Die Schule ist zusammen mit dem Olympiastützpunkt Rhein-Neckar und weiteren Schulen Teil des Verbundsystems Eliteschule des Sports, einer vom Deutschen Sportbund vergebenen Bezeichnung. Unsere immatrikulierten Studierenden finden hier alle Materialien und Online-Tools für ihren erfolgreichen Studienabschluss. Sicherlich haben Sie schon von den sogenannten „Krankenhauskeimen” gehört. Ein Film der ehemaligen Literaturkursschüler Tom Dombrowsky, Nico Grawunder und Christian Kellers (Q2) erhielt den ersten Preis beim öffentlich ausgeschriebenen Kunstwettbewerb „Wenn ich Zauberkräfte hätte …”. Das Helmholtz-Gymnasium bietet den Schülerinnen und Schülern eine Bandbreite an AGs.
    Jahrgangsstufe können das Angebot einer Singklasse wahrnehmen. Darüber hinaus bietet das Gymnasium die AGs Band, Chor, Improvisation und Orchester an, bei denen die SchülerInnen bei Interesse mitwirken können. Über das Angebot und den Schullalltag haben wir mit Schulleiterin Barbara Krieger gesprochen. Seit 1959 besteht an der Schule ein Förderverein, der die Unterstützung rund um die Schule gewährleistet und als Gesellschafter die schuleigene Mensa gGmbH trägt. Die Schule nimmt regelmäßig am Wettbewerb Jugend forscht teil.
    Und die stehen an den Toren zum Schulgelände und spritzen jede Schülerin und jeden Schüler nass. Die Mensa ist an jedem Schultag sehr intestine frequentiert und bietet ein vielfältiges Essensangebot. Es gibt zahlreiche Angebote an Kaltspeisen und verschiedene warme Mittagessen. Die Proben finden während der Schulzeit montags um 18 Uhr statt. Begabte Schüler können auf Antrag stundenweise vom Regelunterricht befreit werden, um in dieser Zeit unter individueller Begleitung einer Lehrkraft als Mentor eigenen Projekt- und Forschungsinteressen nachzugehen.
    Die Schülerinnen und Schüler proben als Chor Lieder und Chorwerke praktisch ein; unterrichtsrelevanter Stoff wie etwa Musikgeschichte, Musiktheorie, Werkanalyse and so forth. werden hier situativ-integriert vermittelt. Während der Unterrichtszeit werden die Schüler neben dem Fachlehrer von einer professionellen Stimmbildnerin in Kleingruppen betreut. In der Oberstufe kann entsprechend „Vokalpraxis” als Schwerpunkt gewählt werden. Gesucht werden ambitionierte Instrumentalisten aus allen Instrumentengruppen. In unregelmäßigen Abständen findet ein „Bewerbungsvorspiel” statt.
    In der Aula steht der spielerische Kampf Lehrer gegen Schüler an. „Die Lehrer werden es nicht schaffen”, war sich Oberstufenschülerin Luzia Kautzner vorher sicher. „Das haben sie noch nie.” Natürlich sollte sie recht behalten. Den Höhepunkt ihrer Mottowoche feiern am Freitag nicht nur die Bonni-Abiturienten, sondern auch die der Wilhelmine-Fliedner-Gesamtschule gleich nebenan und die Q2-Schülerinnen und -Schüler des Helmholtz-Gymnasiums am Holterhöfchen. HGH-Direktorin Barbara Krieger lässt sich überraschen, was auf sie zukommt, sie weiß im Vorfeld von nichts. In der Turnhalle spielen dann Lehrer gegen Schüler, nach anderthalb unterhaltsamen Stunden Programm beginnen dann für alle die Osterferien.
    Im Freizeitbereich besteht außerdem die Möglichkeit an der AG Bücherclub oder den Wettbewerben “Be sensible do not begin”, dem “Rhetorikwettbewerb” oder dem “Wettbewerb der Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung” teilzunehmen. Hauptfach- oder Leistungskurs in Kunst wird nicht angeboten. Helmholtz-Gymnasium die AGs Kunst und Origami sowie die Möglichkeit der Teilnahme an einem Street-Art Kunstprojekt.
    Einblicke in das Diskussionsgeschehen zwischen Schülern des HGH und Persönlichkeiten aus Politik und Verwaltung der Stadt Hilden befinden sich im Downloadbereich. Auch in diesem Jahr findet wieder das traditionelle Weihnachtskonzert des HGH statt, an dem viele interessante Solisten,Chöre und Ensembles mit sehr unterschiedlichen Beiträgen mitwirken — um 19 Uhr in der Aula des Helmholtz-Gymnasiums. Beim Rennen von solargetriebenen Modell-Eigenkonstruktionen absolvierte das von den Schülern Valentin Hohnhorst (8c) und Tom Nöller (7a) vom HGH präsentierte Solargefährt die Wettbewerbsstrecke in absoluter Rekordzeit. Der Sieg sicherte die Teilnahme am Bundeswettbewerb. Überrascht und etwas ungläubig wirkte Maria Lisovets, als sie als Siegerin des diesjährigen Rhetorik-Wettbewerbs verkündet wurde.
    Die SchülerInnen der Oberstufe können die Fächer Mathematik, Biologie, Chemie, Physik und Informatik auf Leistungskursniveau belegen. Darüber hinaus können sich die SchülerInnen im Freizeitbereich unter anderem an den AGs Biologie und Chemie einbringen sowie beim Schulsanitätsdienst oder den Medienscouts engagieren. Das Gymnasium ermöglicht zudem die regelmäßige Teilnahme an den Wettbewerb “Jugend forscht” und “Chemie die stimmt!”. Kooperation mit dem “Gymnasium in Haan”, um ein vielfältiges Leistungskursangebot zu ermöglichen. Seit mehr als 20 Jahren informieren wir Eltern, Großeltern und alle, die mit Kindern leben oder arbeiten über Neuigkeiten aus der Region, Veranstaltungen, Themen, Tipps und Angebote. Wir entdecken die Stadt und ihre Umgebung auch immer wieder neu – das Entdeckte teilen wir gerne mit euch.
    Der richtige Umgang mit Medien in der Schule nimmt heute einen immer größeren Stellenwert ein. Begleitet und unterstützt wird die Teilnahme durch eine Medien AG. Mir selbst ist die Entscheidung für einen anderen Aufgabenbereich nicht leicht gefallen, da ich die Arbeit als Leiter dieses Gymnasiums immer sehr gerne gemacht habe. Die mir eingeräumte Möglichkeit, mich in den letzten beruflichen Jahren mit einer neuen Aufgabe zu befassen und damit weitergehende Erfahrungen zu sammeln, hat für mich dann aber doch den Ausschlag gegeben, dies zu nutzen. Genauso wie ihr haben wir dreimal die Woche bis 15.15 Uhr Unterricht und wissen, dass es manchmal stressig sein kann. Deshalb wollen wir euch durch den Schulalltag begleiten als Ansprechpartner, Begleiter bei Ausflügen und vieles mehr.
